volunteer information

The Crozet Cares Closet (CCC) is run entirely by volunteers.
If not for the support from our volunteers, there would likely not be a CCC.

  • What do Volunteers do?

There are many opportunities for our volunteers. We have specific days where we need volunteers to sign up for the day, time slot and specific job. For example:
Donation Day-usually the last Monday of the month. Volunteers unpack, sort, take inventory and shelve donated products.
Distribution Day-the 1st Saturday of the month. Volunteers sign-up for specific jobs:
    Leader - administrative
Greeter - greets and manages patrons, having them sign in and take a number
Shopper guide - helps patron with their shopping needs

We also have special events for which we need volunteers, i.e. “Cram the Van”.

There is also a great need for volunteers to be willing to be the support “behind the scenes”. The CCC needs volunteers for administrative tasks, marketing and social media, data management, community relations and more. Many of our volunteers work in multiple capacities.

  • Where is the Crozet Cares Closet and is there parking?

The Crozet Cares Closet is located in the “Scott House Community Outreach” center (the entrance is in the rear of the building) on Rte. 250. The brick house is between St. Nicholas and Emmanuel Episcopal Churches.
The address is: 7585 Rockfish Gap Turnpike, Greenwood, VA 22943.

On Donation Day, you may park in the parking lot in front of the Scott House.
On Distribution Day, You may park in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church parking lot -7599Rockfish Gap Turnpike- (take the next driveway after the Scott House driveway). Then walk down on the sidewalk to the Scott House.
